Corian Repair and Refurbishment
Corian is a brand of solid surface material created by Dupont. Its primary use is as a worktop surface, though it has many other applications. Corian is the original material of this type, created by DuPont scientists in 1967. Our Engineers have partaken in the relevent Corian repair and refurbish courses and have a vast knowledge of the material. A number of direct solid surface competitors to Corian have emerged since the expiration of DuPont’s patent on solid surfaces. We have worked with a wide range of these including Hanex, Wilsonart solid surface and Maia.
Corian must be sold and installed by a DuPont certified fabricator and such installations come with a 10-year warranty covering both product and installation, for interior residential applications. Our Engineers have partaken in the relevent Corian repair and refurbish courses and have a vast knowledge of the material.
Corian is used a lot in kitchens, schools and restuarants as it is hygenic, clean and can be refurbished and repaired. After years of wear and tear a Corian repolish can have your worktop looking as good as new. Cracks and chips can be repaired in different ways, if you have a spare piece of Corian, we can ‘let in’ a new piece to give you an inconspicuous repair, and if there is no spare material available we can order in some colour matched adhesive from Corian to fill the area, sand and repolish resulting in a flat and hygenic surface with minimal evidence of repair.
Here are some examples of Corian repairs and refurbishments:
This is a Corian repair, the customer had no spare pieces so we ordered the colour matched glue from Corian. Some colour matches are better than others, this one was near perfect.
This Countertop cracked on the front edge, we were able to use a chopping board the customer had retained to carry out a Corian repair.
This Corian countertop was used in a Pizza Hut and had succumbed to heat damage from constant use of hot plates on it, We carried out the Corian repair by heating up the Corian to reshape it and using a colour matched adhesive.
